Sunderland Enhanced Access Service
If you can’t get an appointment with your GP or can’t get there during the day due to work or other commitments you can use the Enhanced Access Service.
Sunderland offers extra appointments seven days a week at your local out of hours site, alternatively it may be possible to arrange an appointment at another site across the city which your practice will arrange.

When the surgery is closed, telephone freephone NHS 111 if you have a problem that cannot wait until we are open again. Out of Hours Medical services are commissioned by the Primary Care Trust.

NHS 111 is a fast and easy way to get the right help, whatever the time. Please only attend the accident and emergency department if you have had a serious accident or have an urgent medical problem.
